Cam: Short for webcam - the camera on your device used for video chat.
Cam-to-cam: Video chat where both parties use webcams, as opposed to one-way video.
Chat Roulette: Random video chat where users are matched unpredictably with strangers.
Face-to-face: In-person interaction, or video chat that simulates in-person presence.
Matching: The process of pairing users with chat partners.

Technical Terms
Bandwidth: The amount of data that can be transmitted over your internet connection, affecting video quality.
Codec: Software that compresses video and audio for transmission and decompresses received streams.
FPS (Frames Per Second): How many individual images are shown per second in video; higher FPS means smoother motion.
Latency: Delay in audio or video transmission; high latency causes awkward silences and talking over each other.
